Preparation of photocatalysts easy for utilization is one important aspect in photocatalytic field. In the present paper, freestanding photocatalytic membrane easy for recovery and application was fabricated by loading BiFeO3/C3N4 short rods on soft SiO2 electrospun based on the coupling condensation of tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS). The photocatalytic effect and mechanism of BiFeO3/C3N4 and the soft membrane toward methyl orange (MO) were studied in detail. The photocatalytic effect of the soft membrane was higher than that of BiFeO3/C3N4 although less BiFeO3/C3N4 existed in the membrane due to the part displacement of SiO2. The improved catalytic effect derived from the good dispersion of BiFeO3/C3N4 rods. The soft membrane not only maintained the excellent photocatalytic properties of BiFeO3/C3N4 but also showed good application ability, such as magnetic recovery, multiple recycle application, non-secondary pollution due to the soft membrane properties. |
