This paper represents the implementation of fractional order PID (FOPID) controller into a single phase islanded microgrid having a single power source to control the oscillations in its output voltage. The proposed controller has flexibility in design because it has more parameters to tune than integer Order PID controller. The controller is designed using Nelder-Mead optimization technique. Use of the optimization technique gives better performance of the system. The controller is implemented into the system under uncertainties and different load conditions. After evaluation of performance it is seen that the implementation of the proposed controller can reduce the voltage oscillations of the system and provide fast response with robust performance. |
