Comments on Holmes and Cozens' theory of the gas density distribution near the cathode of an abnormal glow discharge

Popis:	Holmes and Cozens' theory (see ibid., vol.8, no.4, p.400 (1975)) of the gas density distribution near the cathode of an abnormal glow discharge is discussed. It is concluded that their description is based upon an inapplicable concept, namely the diffusion of gas through itself. An alternative approach is presented which is found to be in reasonable agreement with Holmes and Cozens' measurements.
