study investigated the need for French language to survive at the tertiary level of education in Nigeria. This necessarily means the adoption of a pedagogy that motivates learners as well as teaches them the language. The background focuses on the print-driven traditional educational approaches as having resulted in a mismatch and disconnect between what is taught to learners currently and what goes on in the wider society; and as such, raises a number of barriers to accessing learning. Literature on the concept of multimedia was reviewed. Information on institutions global movement towards multimedia usage is reviewed. A qualitative research on its efficacy during lecture was carried out. Findings are presented and conclusion is that basic introduction to integration of multimedia as an innovation teaching and learning strategy of French language is necessary. Finally, recommendations were proffered in of support multimedia. |
