Popis: | State Standard GOST 4543–2016 stipulates for more stringent requirements of ghost line (contour) macrostructure defects for alloyed steel. State Standard GOST 4543–71 allowed the existence of the defect in extra high-quality steel not higher than 3 points according to the scales in State Standard GOST 10 243. Ghost line was not specified for hot-rolled quality and high-quality steel. While monitoring the macrostructure of such steel in the metal technology laboratory, OAO Byelorussian Steel Works, management company of Byelorussian Metallurgical Company, the ghost line (contour) defect is identified from time to time. In order to determine the causes of occurrence of this defect in high-quality hot-rolled workpieces, samples of various grades were analyzed. The studies of templates with the ghost line macrostructure defect are described, as well as the activities performed by the electric melting shop and technical department focused on the adjustments of electromagnetic stirring upon steel casting to prevent formation of the defect. |
