Since the introduction of resource allocation techniques to the field of project planning and control by networks, many attempts have been made to improve the effectiveness of the heuristic methods used. Reference has been made to the problem of defining the characteristics of the networks used in the experiments in a few cases. The major results are presented of an investigation into the effects of a range of heuristic methods related to a system for categorizing networks. Two alternative allocation procedures have been tested, and the results are considered separately. |
