In Part 1 an analytical technique is presented for determining the dynamic response of large complex nonlinear systems. The simulation technique is aimed at this class of problems having many describing coordinates, a complex model description, and nonlinear effects which need to be included for sufficient accuracy. The technique uses substructuring to look at complex systems, frequency reduction to handle large numbers of coordinates, and a numerical integration technique which includes the nonlinear effects. The method is seen to have much potential and can be applied to various problems including those having changing topology. The technique can be applied to any large nonlinear problem for which an appropriate model can be formulated. |
