Popis: | The theory and observed characteristics of magneto-optical rotation (MOR) and magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) are described. They are then related to applications in optical instrumentation, and in the determination of atomic and molecular structure. Special emphasis is given to the use of lasers in improving the measurement of these magneto-optic effects. It is suggested that high-resolution laser spectroscopy will replace MCD measurements in some applications. |
