Popis: A wavelength-tunable optical interference filter enables a small stitless monochromator to be made having a relative aperture which exceeds that of traditional slit monochromators having a comparable resolving power by 2–3 orders of magnitude. This makes it possible to analyze radiation from weak sources, for instance, when investigating luminescence of biological, medical, and other weakly emitting objects. Its simplicity of operation, low weight, and small overall dimensions make this monochromator very convenient for laboratory practice at higher and middle educational establishments. The small dimensions of the monochromator enable it to be used to investigate steady-state plasma sources, for example, in the plasma-chemical and microelectronic industries. Combined with a filament lamp or other light source the monochromator can be used to illuminate objects with monochromatic light and to investigate the spectral characteristics of radiation detectors.
