Popis: This paper gives the results of an investigation in which ultrasound was introduced into three different crystal structures: (1) hexagonal, (2) face centered cube, and (3) body centered cubic. Metal rods were used which had one end attached to the ultrasonic horn with the other end being placed in a temperature-controlled furnace. An ultrasonic frequency of 20 KHz was used with a power input up to 75 watts. The temperature along the rod was measured with a radiation thermometer.
