Popis:	This chapter will deal primarily with what researchers have been able to learn about the properties of opioid receptors, or more precisely, of opioid binding sites, by isolating and purifying them. In order to do this with clarity it is necessary to present first some introductory comments about the different types of opioid receptors currently known, or at least postulated, and about their properties based on studies other than chemical isolation and separation.
