The paper describes the experience of application of electroprospecting: transient electromagnetic soundings in near-field zone (TEM) and study the polarization parameters of the section in the transient mode (EM-IP) when conducting research in the South-East Asia. The works were carried out in several stages, starting with the mathematical modeling of EM signals, experimental work till the field phase and preparing of resultant reports. It is shown that the TEM method is flexible enough for study the section in a wide range of depths from tens of meters up to five to seven kilometers and total conductivity from 80 to 250 S and above. The study of polarization properties (IP) of section, along with the electrical resistance of its horizons with high reliability can solve both structural and oil and gas exploration problems. Thus, the combined use of the above methods as with seismics, and separately, increases the efficiency of exploration and reduces the risks when choosing a place for drilling of deep wells.
