Modified ant-colony-optimization algorithm as an alternative to genetic algorithms

Popis: An alternative approach for the optimization strategy in quantum control experiments is proposed. Genetic algorithms are used frequently to improve the laser fields driving quantum processes. We present a flexible scheme based on ant-colony-optimization, which introduces a correlation of the mask function pixels and allows a decrease in the shaped pulse complexity and duration without loss of efficiency.
