Popis:	Present paper exhibits the influences that variable valve timing concept has on a four cylinder turbocharged diesel engine. In this scope, using Amesim 10 1-D simulation software the engine was created and after two main strategies of valve timing were studied in order to observe the behaviour of intake mass flow rate and pumping losses diagram during 100 cycles.
