Popis: | In industry, infrared lasers are well established in the area of macroscopic material processing today due to their high flexibility and integrability. Even in the years of recession the laser market grew more than 10 percent per year. For several years now precision machining with lasers has obtained a worldwide growing interest. Copper vapor lasers are favorable for precision machining because of their pulse duration, wavelength and bean quality. The present work reports on the improvements in reliability of copper vapor lasers for industrial use. The relevant criteria of precision machining are outlined and typical applications are presented.© (1996) COPYRIGHT SPIE--The International Society for Optical Engineering.
