Popis: | Results: In air dried smears Lactobacilli could be idcntilicd in 65%. No cases of candida were observed. Clue cells could bc idcntilicd in 7 women (8.4%). In Grain stain I I women fulfilled the criteria for the diagnosis of bacterial vaginosis. Amine test was ncgativc in ail cases and 80% had pH values > 4.5. After one year of HRT, elevated pH was seen in 50%, and 2 women had positive amine test. All women (92%) with abcense of clue cells in their smear had a normal lactobacilli flora. Conclusions: Lactobacilli can in menopause be identified in 65% of women before one year of HRT and 92% after. In wet smear clue cells could be identified in 7 cases. None of these fu~~Iled the criteria of Amsel. After one year of HRT 6 cases of clue cells could be identified and two of these fulfilled the criteria of Amsel suggested as indicative of bacterial vaginosis. |
