Popis:	This is to report the case of a 65 years old man presenting a pernicious malaria attack complicated after a 7 days course with a toxic pulmonary edema. He had a 40 % parasitemia. He was therefore treated with quinine hydro-chloride and a one week continuous positive-pressure ventilation. We didn't use the controversial exchange transfusion in the present case.
