In this experiment, we extend the context of the study by recruiting participants using Amazon Mechanical Turk. We also introduce several variations to the treatment. In Experiment 1, we replicated Eskreis-Winkler and Fishbach's (2019) results that people learn less from failure feedback. We also obtained a modest learning advantage for impersonal feedback condition which was statistically insignificant. We investigate whether the results still hold with the following revisions to the treatment: 1. We incentivize learning with bonus payments for each question answered correctly at the posttest. 2. We show the questions and answers along with feedback message so that the participants can review the question and the correct answer. We also measure ego-threat as it was done Eskreis-Winkler and Fishbach's (2019) Study 4. We investigate whether ego-threat mediates the relationship between the independent variables (feedback type, achievement) and learning. Eskreis-Winkler, L., & Fishbach, A. (2019).
