Popis: | Double cancer, which has been considered a relatively rare disease, is increasingly documented with a recent progression in the diagnosis and treatment. However, it can be extremely rare in the combination of the organs affected by cancers. We experienced a case of synchronous double cancer, which were found as tumors of the head of pancreas and right kidney by abdominal ultrasonography and CT for the chief complaint of right hypochondralgia. The double cancer could be successfully resected with total pancreatectomy and right nephrectomy. About 10 months later, the patient died of multiple metastases to the small intestine, descending colon, liver, and lung from the pancreatic lesion. Some documents report that the cancer of the pancreas can be associated with a cancer in the other organ in a relatively high frequency. Once a cancer of the pancreas is found, a possible existence of double cancer should be considered. |
