Popis: Eight lakh tons of e-waste which have been generated in India play a significant role in the resource recovery which needs a serious attention in its collection, segregation and treatment for the environmentally sound management and disposal of e-waste. The initial step lies in the hands of consumers and bulk consumers. As per the e-waste rules, the e-waste generated should be transferred either to the producers in the name of extended producer responsibility (EPR) or it should be given to the collection centres in order to recycle it efficiently. The collection centres should follow the rules given by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). From the earlier in-depth literature study, in Coimbatore region, collection centres were in need of transferring the e-waste generated to the recyclers. But there are various problems for the collection centres to prosper in it. An attempt has been made to find out the difficulties of the collection of e-waste from the consumers and bulk consumers, and various difficulties faced in transferring the e-waste to the authorised recyclers.
