Popis: | There is a great significance for the histochemical structure of dentin on dental caries process. Thus the study of the structure, formation, and function of biologically produced materials and also biological mechanisms and processes especially for the purpose of synthesizing similar products by artificial mechanisms which mimic natural ones named as “Biomimetics” is crucial. A material thus formed by biomimetic technique based on the natural process is called a biomimetic material. The objectives and principles of biomimetics in restorative dentistry are to return the hard tissues (enamel and dentin) to attain full function by a hard tissue bond. Therefore allows functional stresses to pass through the tooth making the entire crown into a unit that provides near normal function and biologic and esthetic result. Dentin reconstruction whether by the use of restorative materials, biomimetic mineralization or tissue engineering and stem cell therapy were discussed in details in this chapter. |
