Popis: A theoretical sonic velocity correlation for homogeneous two-phase mixtures under thermal equilibrium is proposed. By application of the method of Landau and Lifshitz, a dimensionless correlating parameter {omega} is found whereby different fluid properties and vapor mass fraction (quality) can be adequately accounted for by the simple correlation. The purpose of this note is to propose an appropriate scaling law for sonic velocities in homogeneous (bubbly) two-phase mixtures under saturated equilibrium. This similarity approach follows closely the method of Landau and Lifshitz (1959) but the present result also yields a simpler correlation for sonic velocities.
