El articulo ofrece un recorrido del diseno grafico en la ciudad de Buenos Aires en los ultimos sesenta anos y analiza puntualmente el rediseno del diario Clarin, iniciado en 1992, y el desarrollo de la infografia a partir de 1995. El rediseno de Clarin impulso acontecimientos que permitieron que la infografia apareciera estrechamente vinculada al diseno grafico, en particular al diseno editorial y a la tipografia que para entonces se encontraban consolidados en la Argentina. El trabajo, producto de una investigacion inedita en curso, repasa esa tradicion y da cuenta de los actores,1 los acontecimientos y las iniciativas que sentaron las bases del la tradicion del diseno tipografico moderno en Argentina y como esta fue recuperada a la hora de asumir el desafio de hacer periodismo con imagenes. El texto privilegia lo desarrollado en la ciudad de Buenos Aires dado que los acontecimientos vinculados a la infografia tuvieron alli su epicentro. ***** This article offers a guide into graphic design in the city of Buenos Aires over the last sixty years with a particular analysis of Clarin’s newspaper redesign, a process which started in 1992, and the development of infographics from 1995 on. Clarin's redesign promoted events that allowed infographics to emerge which were closely linked to graphic design, with a particular on typography and editorial design, which were consolidated in Argentina at the time. This article, a product of unpublished research in course, reviews that tradition and offers an account of the actors, events and initiatives that set the foundations of the tradition for modern typographic design in Argentina. Furthermore, it provides an in-depth analysis of how that tradition was recovered, when engaging in challenging journalism with images. Lastly, this text provides an insight into what was developed in the city of Buenos Aires – the city at the epicentre of the infographic events. |
