Relationship between the self-oscillatory operation of an unstable resonator of a fast-flow CO2laser utilizing a self-sustained discharge and the electrical parameters of the gas-discharge chamber

Popis: An experimental investigation demonstrated that when a resonator of this kind was operated at low input energies, acoustic waves propagated in the gasdynamic channel of the laser and they generated characteristic electromagnetic radiation emitted by the gas-discharge chamber at frequencies governed by the Doppler effect. The appearance of acoustic waves was attributed to the fact that the unstable resonator operated in a self-oscillatory regime when the input energy was low.
