Objective: ABO and Rh blood groups were also questioned and recorded during periodic examinations in the central districts, provincial directorate and 112 emergency health services in Kayseri Occupational Health and Safety Unit. It has been determined that some employees do not remember or do not know their blood group. In the study, it was aimed to determine the blood group distributions of the employees and their knowledge of blood groups. Material and Method: ABO and Rh blood groups were analyzed retrospectively from the file records in the periodic examinations carried out in Kayseri Provincial Health Directorate and its affiliated units in the first 6 months of 2018 and 2019. The results were found by calculating frequencies in SPSS 21 program. Results: As a result of reprospective examination of the examination files, 34.8% (n: 297) of the eight hundred and fifty-four employees examined were ARh +, 21.2% ORh + (n: 181), 13.2% BRh + (n: 113 ), 5.4% AB Rh + (n: 46), 3.6% ARh- (n: 31), 3.2% ORh- (n: 27), 2.2% BRh- (n: 19), 0.9% AB Rh- (n: 8) and 15.5% (n: 132) did not know / remember. Those who know / remember the blood group A blood group 45.5%, 0 blood group 28.7%, B blood group 18.3%, AB blood group 7.5%, Rh + 88.2% (n: 637), Rh- 11.8% (n: 85) was found. Conclusion: In this study, there is a 15.5% employee group who does not know / remember the blood group. Institutions that have dangerous and very dangerous class jobs and units such as Provincial Health Directorates should be much more conscious about this issue. Studies by larger groups will be more useful. |
