Popis: Substance abuse is a broad term encompassing tobacco, alcohol, marijuana, heroin, cocaine, methamphetamines, and narcotics, as well as more rare substances such as bath salts, which may be inhaled, smoked, injected, or swallowed in order to obtain a feeling of euphoria. Substance abuse is the number one cause of preventable illness and death in the United States. Every year, more than 500,000 deaths in the United States occur secondary to the abuse of alcohol, tobacco, or the other drugs listed above. Of all of these, alcohol is the most commonly abused psychoactive substance.
