An Archaeological Evaluation was carried out at Ashby Road, Kegworth, this included the excavation of sixteen trenches, 30m by 1.8m in size.The evaluation was undertaken to investigate anomalies identified on the geophysical survey. The trenches identified minimal archaeological features, with thirteen archaeologically sterile; containing a topsoil, subsoils and clay and limestone natural. One trench showed evidence of an historic hedge and the other natural channels from water erosion. No finds were identified on the site. |
