Alongside the exponential rise of smartphone apps and the existence of rapidly advancing cloud computing (CC), Mobile Cloud Computing (MCC) has emerged as a transformational technology for mobile applications. It applies the concepts of CC into cell phone context by improving its performance, security and functionality. This work gives an overview of the incorporation of CC into Mobile devices and the emergence of MCC from it. Having reviewed numerous papers, it is observed that there is no content which portrays the direct derivation of MCC from CC before a review of the several applications, this paper has bridged this gap. Giving a detailed conceptual overview of the technologies involved in CC and MCC, it focuses on the applications of MCC in the current real world. |
