Popis:	The development of a recognition and protection of gender identity and trans persons in Belgium has taken place through several different corollaries, from judge-made law to statutory law, from judges to the civil registrars, from medical requirements to self-determination, and from a binary to a non-binary or fluid conception of gender. This chapter explores these legal developments in Belgium at length, as well as proposing steps forward.
