Popis: The three types of images: authentic (candid and journalistic); idealistic (formal or staged); and the fantastic (conceptual and imaginative) are described. The photographer is encouraged to examine his or her own character, strengths, perspective, and, above all, objective in order to make a connection with the viewer. To photograph a child requires flexibility and preparedness. We need to make decisions instinctively and not bog ourselves down with deliberation. Childhood requires respect and kindness if we want to elicit cooperation and avoid flat-out rejection. We must earn a child's cooperation and ease. The interaction between the child and photographer involves a sacred trust. We are charged to create a safe and protective stage for their world; and in doing so our ability to create honest, sincere, and authentic images, whether on set or location, will flourish.
