Popis: | Evidence that the adsorption of polymers produces significant changes in the bulk properties of polymers at great distances from the original surface site of the macromolecule is discussed. This long range effect, or the interphase as it has become known, may be an important parameter in the adhesion phenomena. A method for the determination of the interphase boundary based on the thermal relaxation of the polymer dipoles is described. The latter may be adapted for the calculation of the critical pigment volume concentration in coating systems. |
