Thermal stabilities of amorphous and crystalline TiCuHx

Popis: | The irreversible transitions of the glassy alloy a‐TiCu as well as the crystalline and amorphous ternary hydrides TiCuHx were studied by differential scanning calorimetry and x‐ray diffraction. While the exothermic transition peaks and kinetic activation energies are closely correlated, the heats of transitions do not follow the same trends as the transition temperatures. The thermal stability of a‐TiCuH1.41 is much less than the stabilities of either a‐TiCu or c‐TiCuH0.96. This behavior is attributed to greater atomic diffusivities in the amorphous hydride. |
