Popis: Of late my attention has been attracted by a certain type of image because it was produced recurrently by several anorexic patients I was treating . These patients were seen individually and they did not know each other . The images may appear different, but in my view they share a similar structure . This tripartite structure is made up of : (a) a "victim," either imprisoned or cornered, (b) a "trap," either imprisoning or cornering the victim, (c) a "bad object," ready to attack or reject the victim (in case he or she would escape from the trap) . For this reason, I refer to the image as a "double trap ." I have chosen three types of double traps to illustrate this concept . The images, made by three different patients, were produced in the sessions in different ways .
