This brief paper seems to have been intended for The Review of Metaphysics , but for whatever reason was never published there or anywhere else. Hartshorne is responding to two articles in The Review of Metaphysics that were published in 1968 which he believed did not do justice to his views on the modal structure of temporal becoming (what Hartshorne here called "creationism") and the way in which it should be expressed in language. This article is one of the clearest statements of his views on these subjects and it is the only place in his writings of which I am aware that he alludes to how his view on the semantics of future contingents changed.
