Popis:	The synthesis of N-(methoxyacetyl)-N-[(2-methylthio)phenyl]-D,L-alanine methyl ester was successfully carried out in two steps from 2-methyl-6-(methylthio)aniline. It exists as two, separable, rotationally hindered isomers (atropisomers) that were isolated, characterized, and shown to have differential fungicidal activity against Phytophthora infestans and Plasmopara viticola.
