Popis:	Digitalis glycosides exert significant inotropic effects on both the normal and failing human heart [4, 22, 23, 27]. Despite the evidence for this, there are no data available concerning cardiac performance of the hypertrophied left ventricle in hypertensive heart disease. Although it may be assumed that digitalis glycosides improve ventricular function in the failing heart, the effects on concentric or irregular left ventricular hypertrophy are presently unknown.
