Specific heat for ionic tunneling in a metallic environment

The temperature-dependent specificheat, determined from the spectrum, shows a peak close to the effective tunneling rate. At low temperature wefound Fermi liquid behavior indicating the gap suppression due to low-lying excitations of the conductionband. The entire specific-heat curve depends only on a certain characteristic combination of the Coulombpotential and spatial separation of the sites.I. INTRODUCTION
