Popis: | A code to study beam power deposition on the internal components of the DIII-D and EAST neutral beamlines has been developed. The predictions that the code makes are found to be in good agreement with water flow calorimetry measurements for all components except the magnet region. The code is used to predict the power loading on new components being designed for a major beamline upgrade. The shortcomings of the code’s treatment of the magnet region are addressed by utilizing a particle trajectory tracing code and invoking the hypothesis that incomplete space charge neutralization is responsible for the discrepancy. |
