Popis: | Background: Restoring posterior maxilla with implants is challenging due to lack of bonequantity and quality.Objective: Assess the effect of adding platelet rich fibrin (PRF) to bovine bone mineral (Biooss) as sinus graft with simultaneous implant placement.Patients and methods: Sixteen implants were placed in 16 augmented sinuses divided into twogroups; the first (study) group sinus augmentation was done using Bio oss and PRF and the second(control) group using Bio oss alone. Implant stability and bone density were assessed.Results: The sinuses grafted with Bio oss mixed with PRF showed significantly higher bonedensity and implant stability after 6 months.Conclusion: The use of Bio oss mixed with PRF as a graft materiel in sinus lifting procedureis highly superior to Bio oss alone with respect to the implant stability and bone density around theimplant. |
