Assisted electrooxidation of the phenylchromiumtricarbonyl moiety in mixed phenylchromiumtricarbonyl-ferrocenyl compounds

Popis: In compounds which contain both phenylchromiumtricarbonyl (Bct) and ferrocentyl (Fc) groups, an induced electrooxidation of the Bct moiety occurs in N,N-dimethylformamide in the cases in which the two groups are conjugated. The efficiency of the assisted oxidation is related to the intermediate Cr(I) species which is generated and to the distance between the Bct and Fc sites. This efficiency increases when the concentration of the depolarizer and/or the distance between the electroactive sites are decreased.
