Popis: This chapter provides an introduction to the context and content of the book. After introducing the concepts of the trauma and human rights frameworks, the chapter traces the origins of trauma-informed care and its movement into behavioral health, child welfare, and educational settings. Following this, the chapter describes the genesis of the book in the graduate-level course on trauma, trauma-informed care, and human rights that was developed and implemented as a foundational course in the University at Buffalo School of Social Work’s trauma-informed and human rights-based curriculum. Lastly, the chapter outlines the book’s content and goals.
