Popis: | The surface modification mechanism with scanning tunneling microscope (STM) is investigated. Calculations of a field in a tunneling gap have shown that at small distance between a tip and substrate the system is practically symmetric relative to polarity. The evaluation of a tip apex temperature has shown that thermal expansion of a tip apex can results in short-circuit between a tip and substrate. This can be the reason for surface modification at the applying of a voltage pulse in STM. |
