Gel-permeation chromatography of epichlorohydrin oligomers

Popis: A study was made by GPC of MWD and molecular heterogeneity of products of cationic polymerization of epichlorohydrin by the action of THF-boron trifluoride in 1,2-dichloroethane solution. It was shown that up to 40% of the cyclic tetramer of epichlorohydrin is formed. Problems of calibration of the device and interpretation of the gel-chromatographic curve are considered in order to transform GPC into an absolute method of determining MWD parameters of the oligomers and number and weight distribution functions.
