Popis:	Studies of electrochemical systems are traditionally based on electrical measurements, but in recent years there has been an upsurge of activity involving application of a wide range of in situ spectroscopic and structural techniques to characterize the interfacial region. This paper presents a brief overview of several of these techniques and provides experimental illustrations of their utility.
