Popis: | The reliability of Ultra High Frequency (UHF) Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)-based free flow tolling systems highly depends on the vehicle velocity since it determines the available time for identification. One quantity to determine the reliability of such a system is the number of reads. However, to be able to describe the dependence between this number and the velocity, usually the knowledge of a variety of system parameters is necessary which may not always be available in practice. In this paper, a method to estimate the number of reads for arbitrary vehicle velocities based on the measured number of reads at only one velocity is derived. It is also shown how the maximum vehicle velocity above which the identification fails can be estimated. With data obtained from a system test on a race track, the maximum velocity estimation yields 575km/h. |
