Popis: Symptoms: The petioles loose their turgescense and become white (picture 1). Part of the middle vein with adjacent parenchyma and the stem may be likewise damaged. In this case the whole plant wilts (picture 2). Exteriorly hardly damaged plants may show ruptures of the tissues Later on the leaves may be distorted when the epidermis at the underside of the leaf, being torn from the parenchyma, stops growing (pictures 3 and 4). The damage is found to be most serious in light and dry soil and of plants which are insufficiently hardened off.
