Popis: The physics and numerical simulation of ICF at DENIM have progressed in the areas of numerical modelling and target design. The goal in the first area has been to improve our computational capability to simulate the key issues of ICF, including the hydrodynamic stability along the implosion and stagnation phases, the ignition propagation, and the energy transport. In addition we have paid some atention to the simulation of current ICF experiments, specially those related with the X-ray energy conversion, in order to validate and adjust our numerical models. The efforts have been mainly concentrated in atomic physics, 1D and 2D multigroup radiation transport and in the development of a robust two-dimensional (2D) hydrodynamics algorithm.
