This paper investigates the use of Multiresolution technique using Wavelet Transform for analysis of pediatric ECG signals. Wavelets are useful to describe signals at different levels of resolution. By means of multiresolution analysis, a signal can be decomposed into a set of signals (or scales), each scale containing only structures of a given size. The multiresolution approach allows a better understanding of the data values how they are distributed in a signal, and how the signal can be separated from the noise. The main advantage related to wavelet transforms is that they are localized both in the frequency and time domains. This paper presents a useful method based on the wavelet transform, for feature extraction of the Pediatric electrocardiograph (ECG) signals. The ECG signal is first denoised by a soft threshold and then each PQRST cycle is decomposed into a coefficients vector by the bioorthogonal wavelet function. |
