In this work we will deal with the problem of optimal control by adaptive backstepping of the synchronization of chaotic nonlinear dynamical systems. This research work is motivated by both theoretical and practical challenges. Indeed, these systems cannot be stabilized directly by time invariant smooth commands. Moreover, in spite of the available number of methods for the local control of these systems, we will think about the following research question: can we use new methods such as backstepping and adaptive backstepping in the formulation and optimization of the control problem, and do we need to deal with the singularities encountered in some chaotic systems? Thereby, our work addresses some of these open problems, formulates, and solves the problems of optimal control and synchronization of chaotic nonlinear dynamical systems using the backstepping approach. |
