Popis:	This is the community service project of the University of Sao Paulo at Ribeirao PretoCollege of Nursing linked to the Research Group “Study and Rehabilitation of the surgicaland cancer patient, enrolled in the National Council for Scientific and TechnologicalDevelopment (CNPq), that aims to assist patients with cancer undergoing chemotherapyproviding complementary therapies such as relaxation with guided imagery andacupuncture to lessen the symptoms of the disease and treatment. Quasi-experimentalstudy with intervention and control group developed in the chemotherapy unit at theHospital Beneficencia Portuguesa of Ribeirao Preto. The results demonstrate that thecomplementary therapies lessen the symptoms improving patients’ quality of life.
